Gas appliance pipe is available in two distinctly different designs.
1. B Vent or Natural Vent pipe in designed to be installed on water heaters and room heaters that
use room air for combustion. The pipe is strictly for venting the hot combustion by-productions out
of the house.
2. Direct Vent pipe on the other hand is used primairly on room heater rated appliances such as the
free standing gas stoves, gas fireplaces and gas inserts we sell. This pipe has an inner liner for hot
gas to vent out and is surrounded by a second wall that brings fresh combustion air to the appliance.
At no time is room air used in this style of heater and the combustion chambers are sealed from the
room, so there is no chance of carbon monoxide ever entering the room.
