Why is my stove not as efficient as it used to be?
When stoves lose efficiency there are a number of possible causes.

1. The wood you are burning is not as dry, solid or the same type
as you formerely used. Compare seasoned wood performance before
you blame the stove.

2. The gasket around the sove door may not be making the tight
seal it used to. When it leaks air into the firebox, more heat is
pulled up the chimney and doesn't get into the house where you
need it.

3. If the stove is catalytic, the catalyst may be exhausted and need
to be replaced.
